YOUTH LEADERS EMPOWERED AT 5TH RCL WORKSHOP AND LEADERSHIP INDUCTION

In a powerful display of youth empowerment, the 5th RCL Workshop and Leadership Induction took place at Naledi Hall on Friday, 20 March 2026, hosted by the Lindokuhle Mfana Foundation & SANAC CSF Youth Sector. This impactful event transformed the lives of young leaders, equipping them with the necessary skills to drive change in their schools and communities.

The event was a masterclass in leadership, with Tshepo Mazola Lekwape, the JHB Chairperson of Civil Society & South African Youth Council (SAYC), and Zonke Vilakazi sharing their expertise on leadership, social determinants of health, and community transformation. Obakeng Kgatshe from the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation inspired participants with their work in uplifting students and promoting education

The fight against GBVF took center stage, with representatives from the Gender-Based Violence Forum emphasizing the crucial role future leaders play in combating this scourge and promoting a safe society. The team from Shout It Out Now spoke about their client-centred, youth-focused health services, encouraging participants to speak out against social injustices, amplifying their voices, and empowering them to create change, including their remarkable programmes called SELF-CAV and Chomi.

Through such interactive sessions, participants gained valuable skills in presentation, decision-making, and problem-solving, unlocking their potential to lead with confidence and purpose. “Empowerment is not just about giving power, it’s about unlocking potential,” said Zonke Vilakazi.
