Gauteng Government to host the closing programme for the 2024 16 Days of No Violence Against Women and Children Campaign

The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) will on Tuesday, 10 December 2024 host the provincial, closing programme to mark the end of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children
Campaign.

Acting Premier, Lebogang Maile will engage with victims/survivors of GBVF and various stakeholders in a dialogue to foster open communication, raise awareness, and facilitate collaborative problem-solving to end the scourge of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). This is part of the provincial government’s commitment to build a safer and secure society.

This year’s theme: “30 Years of Advancing Collective Action to End Violence Against Women and Children” places emphasis on the importance of 365 days of activism. The campaign which started on the 25th of November until the 10th of December 2024 is aimed at heightening awareness about the widespread effects of Gender-based Violence and Femicide (GVBF) and encouraging collective action from
all sectors of society.
